Making Money Online - How to Profit from Your Passions - Pt 2

In Part 1, I explained why using the things you are passionate about is one of the most reliable ways to make money online. In this concluding section, we'll take a look at how to bring like-minded people to your site, so you can sell to them,

Step 5 - Bring them to your site.

This is the part that people talk a whole load of hot air about, but in fact is incredibly simple. There are just a few things you need to do. Use Google AdWords to drive keyword targeted searchers direct to your site. Submit articles, little bits of your e-book to article directories. Submit press releases to offline magazines and periodicals. Advertise offline and finally learn how to optimise your site for the search engines. All of these skills can be learned with a little bit of online research and are much simpler than they sound.

Step 6 - Sell them when they get there

This is all about sales copy. These are the words on your site that persuade them firstly that you are someone to be trusted and secondly that they will get a real benefit from buying your e-book.

There is a great deal of skill in writing sales copy, but don't worry because there are some amazing online tools that will do it for you if you input the right information. Just search on Google for CopyWriting software.

Lastly, you have to reassure your customers that if they don't think your book is worth the price - you will give them their money back with no questions asked. This last is very important.

Step 7 - Get their details and keep in touch with them

Whether they buy or not on their first visit, it is vitally important at this stage to capture their contact details with a simple opt-in form. This will be linked to an automated e-mail service which then sends them a short to the point e-mail every day for the next few days, telling them more about you, your expertise and your e-book. This will keep going till they actually buy, unsubscribe or reach the last e-mail without acting. If you've done a good job they will have formed a relationship with you in their minds and this gives you the chance to :

Step 8 - Sell them something else.

And this is where this business model gets really interesting. The real money is in your e-mail list - these are people who have effectively told you that they are happy and willing to receive information from you on a regular basis. There is no reason why that information can't include information about products and services that you want to show them and links so they can go buy those products and services. Those products might be more things that you have created or they might be affiliate links to other people's products. And so the money flows.

Once you have a healthy list numbering in the low hundreds - you can really start to motor, by every so often sending out broadcast e-mails offering relevant products and services and that's when your business becomes like turning on a tap of cash. Every time you broadcast an offer a percentage of your list will buy immediately. Money in the bank. What a great business!
