The internet can be considered a type of jungle, where there are cyber lions, cyber tigers and cyber bears. To survive and thrive in this jungle, you have to know what to look out for. Just as with any jungle, you must be aware of the pitfalls. Let's take a look at some of the characters that lurk in this jungle.
The Lions
Here's something to consider, when you first get online, you're so excited at the prospect of being online, you may think there's nothing to indicate that you have just entered an untamed, wild jungle. You may not hear the roar of the cyber lions, but they are out there, they are just in disguise.
One of the biggest lions to be aware of is the offer of selling what can be found online for free. Now it's true that sometimes you value your time more than money, but you have to decide how much your time is worth and how much time it would take you to research the information.
Always be aware that most of what you're looking for can be found for free, so be sure to remain on the lookout for this cyber lion who's out to separate you from your money.
The Tigers
There are so many ways that beginners can be eaten alive in the cyber jungle. And many of these tigers are looking for their next meal, that's you. The tigers prey on the fact that most people simply want to earn some extra cash online, a noble cause. These beginners don't even want to become rich or famous, they just want a quick and simple way to earn money from home.
These are honest, hard-working decent people...and this is exactly what makes the tigers out there start thinking about having you for dinner. A common method this tiger preys on you is by placing ads for envelope stuffing jobs. In return for this work at home opportunity, you just pay a, 'small fee' to the tiger. What will most likely happen is you'll get instructions for placing ads just like the one you fell for to get others to bite.
It's a tiger...it is a con...and the only way that you will ever get your money back is to deceive others into thinking they can make money by stuffing envelopes. Just remember, there are no envelope stuffing jobs working at home.
The Bears
And now just around the tree are the bears. Unfortunately, the bears thrive in the Internet jungle and come in several species. They know that you want to improve your financial situation, which is a worthy ambition, but again, you need to be on the lookout.
Since many people want to be captain of their own ship and master of their destiny, this bear offers you the opportunity to process email. Hmm.. think about this, is this just an 'updated' twist on envelope processing which we just discussed?
This bear wants your hard-earned money. He tells you what you want to hear. Millions of people use email everyday. You use email, does your email need to be processed? I don't think so. This is certainly another scam that you need to be aware of in the internet jungle landscape.
Now that you know about these predators, keep in mind there are legitimate internet businesses waiting for you. You can stay safe in the internet jungle, but it's really up to you. So....as 'they' say, "The best offense is a good defense!" Your good defense consists of being well armed, well prepared and having a plan for success [http://www.dayjobescapeblueprint.com].
