They join the program, look through the details and become dazzled by the prospect of being able to earn money at home.
The supposedly simple instructions for internet marketing, which frequently seem to be missing some crucial piece of information, overwhelm them.
After battling with the program for a few days or few weeks they become disillusioned and put it aside and go looking to earn money from the next apparent bonanza
The "Grasshopper Syndrome"
Dr. Jeffrey Lant, a well-known author of e-books relating to internet marketing and business opportunity or development and founder of one of the top internet marketing programs, calls this "the Grasshopper Syndrome".
The unfortunate sufferer continues to look for the pot of gold, all the while losing their hard earned money.
The cure for the Grasshopper Syndrome is FOCUS.
Choose Your Business Opportunity Carefully.
In order for your home business to be successful, you should choose one program and focus on it until you have it working properly and showing that it can earn money for you. Sure there will be problems and frustrations, particularly when you first start internet marketing. Don't be reluctant to seek help from the program's support team.
If the program is a good one it will have an active support team ready and willing to help. They will probably be busy, so may not always respond as quickly as you would like, but they genuinely want to help you and want you to succeed and make money.
When All Else Fails, Read The Instructions.
One tip; do study the instructions and any training material carefully before asking for help. They will not appreciate being ask questions which have already been fully answered, particularly if the question is listed in the FAQ section.
A bewildering number of internet marketing programs compete for members to join them, each using varying degrees of "hyp" to promote their site and telling you that you will start to make money right away.
With the majority of internet marketing programs it will take one to two months at least to begin to make money.
Bonuses.
You will also be promised bonuses if you will join now.
Bonuses are fine and most have real value, but do consider just how much use will they be to you. Will each one help you to make money with your marketing, or is it likely that you will download it and forget it is there?
Assess The Program.
You need to assess each scheme or program as carefully as possible.
o Do the claims as to income seem realistic? Keep in mind that some of the testimonies saying they made $2000 - $3000 - $4000 last month are possibly written by internet marketers who were already skilled when they joined the program; nor do they say how long it took them to reach that level.
o Does the program generate passive income; will it continue to bring in money if you take a holiday for a week or two?
o The program should largely run itself, meaning you would only need to spend an hour or so each day to do the necessary work to run it.
Be Persistent.
Do keep looking for that really great work from home program. There are programs available which provide excellent tuition and support and will enable you to achieve your goal to make money on the internet.
Thousands of people earn money from home, even just part-time and some make an extraordinary income. The exciting thing is that for the most part, the people who do this have no special talents except focus, determination and persistence.
